South of Scotland Cycling Partnership Strategy review highlights progress across region
We have welcomed the publication of the latest South of Scotland Cycling Partnership Strategy annual review, which highlights another year of progress in growing cycling across the Scottish Borders and Dumfries & Galloway.
The review showcases achievements ranging from new cycling infrastructure and tourism initiatives to major events and industry collaboration, all helping to deliver the partnership's long-term vision for the region.
Supporting the Strategy
Throughout 2025, South of Scotland Enterprise (SOSE) and Edinburgh Napier University (ENU) supported the ambitions of the South of Scotland Cycling Partnership, helping to drive projects and initiatives that strengthen cycling, innovation and economic development across the region.
Working with businesses, local authorities, community organisations and industry stakeholders, ENU contributed research, innovation and knowledge exchange expertise, while SOSE continued to support investment, business growth and regional development activity aligned to the strategy's objectives.
Bike Innovation Scotland continues to support the strategy through our work.
Looking ahead to 2027
2027 promises to be a historic and exciting year for cycling innovation in Scotland.
With the opening of the Caerlee Mill Bike Campus, businesses will gain access to a dedicated hub designed to support product development, testing, collaboration and innovation within the cycling sector.
Alongside the specialist laboratory facilities being established through Edinburgh Napier University, the new centre will create opportunities for industry, researchers and entrepreneurs to work together on the next generation of cycling products and technologies.
We believe these facilities can make an important contribution to the future delivery of the South of Scotland Cycling Partnership Strategy by supporting innovation, attracting investment and helping new ideas move more quickly from concept to market.
In addition, 2027 will see the Tour de France come to Innerleithen and the Scottish Borders - a truly historic occasion for cycling in the region.
As the strategy continues to gather momentum, we look forward to work as part of the South of Scotland Cycling Partnership.
This will ensure innovation remains central to the growth of cycling, the development of businesses and the South of Scotland's reputation as a world-class cycling destination.
