Inspiring the next generation through cycling, science and innovation

From August 2027, Bike Innovation Scotland will offer schools the opportunity to experience cycling innovation first-hand at the Caerlee Mill Bike Campus. Through interactive visits, hands-on activities and access to a world-leading cycling innovation environment, we aim to inspire young people to explore opportunities in sport, health, engineering, sustainability and technology.

School groups will be able to discover how research is improving rider performance, how products are designed and tested, and how innovation can help create a more sustainable future. Visits may include facility tours, STEM-focused learning activities, engagement with researchers and industry professionals, and opportunities to explore the diverse careers that support the cycling sector.

Working with education partners, we also plan to develop a programme of curriculum-linked activities, workshops and events designed to bring classroom learning to life and encourage young people to consider future pathways into further education, research and industry.

Whether local to the Scottish Borders or visiting from further afield, we want Bike Innovation Scotland to be a place where curiosity, learning and ambition can thrive.

Details of school visits, workshops and educational programmes will be announced as we approach the opening of the Caerlee Mill Bike Campus in 2027.
