Developing the next generation of cycling talent, skills and innovation

At Bike Innovation Scotland, we believe cycling can inspire learning, create career opportunities and drive innovation. Working with education providers, industry partners and communities, we are developing opportunities that help people of all ages build skills, gain experience and explore new pathways into the cycling sector.

From engaging school pupils with science, technology and cycling, to supporting college learners, university students and future researchers, our ambition is to create a pipeline of talent that contributes to the future of cycling, sport, health, engineering and sustainability.

Edinburgh Napier University already integrates cycling research, innovation and education across multiple disciplines, while partnerships with organisations such as Borders College will help strengthen skills development opportunities across the South of Scotland.

As Caerlee Mill evolves, it will become a hub for learning, collaboration and workforce development, supporting a growing range of educational and training opportunities for individuals, businesses and the wider cycling community.
